New Zealand carried on to their impeccable form in the ICC World Cup 2023 and defeated the Netherlands by 99 runs at the Ravij Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, India, on Monday.
With the win, the Black Caps strengthened their position on the top of the ICC points table with a handsome net run rate (NRR).
Mitchell Santer was picked the Player of the Match for his heroics with the ball as well as the bat.
The left-arm off-spinner picked the first five-wicket haul of this World Cup, taking five for 59 while also contributing a quick 36 off just 17 which included five boundaries.
Batting first, the Black Caps posted 322 runs on the scoreboard courtesy of a strong display by their top-five batters —Devon Conway, Will Young, Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and skipper Tom Latham — as all of them contributed to valuable runs.
Chasing the target, the Dutch were restricted to 223 runs with the experienced Colin Ackermann top-scoring for his side with 69 off 73.
